Since we’re passionate about animal rescue AND music, we’re posting a new playlist every Monday. You’ll see what we are listening to, and you can look forward to guest posts from some of our favorite friends, musicians, and fellow animal rescuers.
This week, Nicole is contributing her selections. Nicole is married to Nik, is a super awesome person, and definitely represents the mellower end of the musical spectrum in our extended HAR family. We’re loving her perspective this week, so check out her playlist below!
Leon Bridges – “Smooth Sailin'”
Leon Bridges is from Fort Worth, Texas. I just found out about Leon Bridges, and I’m so mad because his music and voice are amazing. I listen to his album all the time now. If you like soul, you’ll love him.
Of Monsters and Men – “Human”
OMAM is from Iceland, and they’re very unique both musically and lyrically. They have easily become one of my favorites bands as of late. They are also great live.
Bear’s Den – “The Love We Stole”
This band is from London. They have banjo and lots of it…so naturally I love them.
James Vincent McMorrow – “Down the Burning Ropes”
He is from Dublin and is super talented. One of my favorite artists.
José González – “Slow Moves”
He is a Swedish artist. I heard about this artist through the Walter Mitty soundtrack, haha, and now I listen to him all the time.
Junip – “Far Away”
This band is from Sweden, and José Gonzáles is in the band. I love Junip. Nothing else to say.
City and Colour – “Sorrowing Man”
City and Colour is from Canada and one of my all time favorites artists. I own every album on vinyl and then some. Picking one song was hard because they are all perfect. Sorrowing Man has always been one of my favorites.
Mumford and Sons – “Snake Eyes”
You can never go wrong with some Mumford and Sons. Their newest album is amazing. They are also from London.
Fences – “Arrows (feat. Macklemore)”
Fences is from Canada, and this is the first song I heard from him, but the rest of his music is worth checking out well.
Lord Huron – “Frozen Pines”
They are a indie folk band from Los Angeles. I started listening to them recently. They are worth checking out.
Thanks to Nicole for contributing her favorite songs this week. Crank up the playlist, rescue an animal, and have a fantastic week!
